Community resilience is the ability of a community to withstand change in a way that protects all people, and an ability to take advantage of change in a way that increases the ability of the community to thrive.  -Nikki Silvestri

Broadly speaking, using a systems approach, CBC-CAVU will consider a series of questions including:
  • What is the problem being considered?
  • Who is impacted by this problem?
  • Who owns the problem?
  • What are the shared values?
  • What are the existing conditions including current resources and processes that surround this problem?
  • What is needed to find a better way?
  • and, Why should we consider or care about this problem?

We'll develop a work plan together using community engagement, marketing, public relations and/or research tools to create human-powered change supporting healthy local communities.

Are you ready?  You are just one click away from working with human-powered change experts.

Motivate
Value
.  What do we need to sustain all that is precious?  Why should we care about Global Climate Change, Clean Water, Poverty, Food Supplies?  What values do we share?

Connect
Systems.  Whether tangible or intangible our connections to each other and to the systems around us are complex and inter-related.  What happens when we consider our place in the earth's ecosystem?  Our place in our community?  Our relationship to our place?

Create
Inspire.  Words and images come together to tell a story.  How you say something is just as important as what and when you say it.

Engage
Solutions.  How do we find them?  How does someone's personal story connect them to their own past, present and future, to their community's past, present and future?

Navigate
Choices.  Whether it is encouraging the purchase of local foods or discouraging folks from driving alone in their car to work every day, making those changes requires empowerment over decision-making.  How we create choices determines how we make them.
